Angelina Jolie has been in a custody battle with Brad Pitt for over 5 years over their children, and has now scored a win! For over a year Jolie has been trying to disqualify the private judge John W. Ouderkirk from continuing to preside over the custody battle, and now she was granted this request.

After divorcing from Pitt, Jolie requested full custody of the children, but the judge granted joint custody of their 5 minor kids. After this move, Jolie’s attorney filed a request to have him disqualified for failing to “disclose multiple professional, business and financial relationships, ongoing during the course of the matter, with Pitt’s counsel and their law firms.”

Three appellate judges wrote a new ruling, saying that “Judge Ouderkirk’s ethical breach, considered together with the information disclosed concerning his recent professional relationships with Pitt’s counsel, might cause an objective person, aware of all the facts, reasonably to entertain a doubt as to the judge’s ability to be impartial. Disqualification is required.”
