Tobey Maguire, widely known for his portrayal of the infamous web-slinger in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man (2002), is thought to make his first appearance in a movie since his last project, Pawn Sacrifice (2015), where he re-enacted the real-life events of American chess legend Bobby Fischer. If the rumors of his cameo in upcoming MCU projects prove wrong, this movie would mark the end of a 7-year hiatus since he stepped into productions of any kind.

Babylon has the Great Gatsby actor partnering up with well-known talents such as Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde, and others. The film is created and helmed by Damien Chazelle known for his award-winning pictures such as Whiplash and La La Land. The movie has been described to be set in the 1920s, amid Hollywood’s transition from silent films to “talkies”.

The film is currently aimed to be released by next year.
