Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid is one the most anticipated projects for the year! With the reveal of its diverse cast and star-studded talent, fans began to share their excitement on the internet.

A fan account of the production managed to get shots from the set in Italy where filming is currently underway. The pictures included ‘Ariel’ herself, Halle Bailey, and co-star Jonah Hauer-King who plays ‘Prince Eric’ in rehearsal for the eventual filming. Bailey appeared to have been wearing a CG suit implying most of her aquatic form will be made from CGI in post-production.

The team for the project also includes director Rob Marshall (Mary Poppins Returns), Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and more. The movie is set to release on the 9th of July 2021 however no update has been made since the announcement.
