A much-hyped horror-thriller starring Emily Blunt A Quiet Place Part 2 seems to have brought the North American box office to life since Covid paralyzed the Hollywood film business, with a recorded $48 million opening weekend (Friday to Sunday), making it the biggest three-day theatrical hall so far.
The post-apocalyptic drama, directed by Blunt’s actor-filmmaker husband John Krasinski, is a sequel to the 2018 global blockbuster A Quiet Place. The film opened across 3726 venues and is expected to end up with a four-day collection of around $58 million.
The sequel was produced at a budget of $61 million and was originally scheduled to release in March last year, but the producing studio, Paramount Pictures, decided to delay it for well over a year, which seems to have paid off.
