Katy Perry is joining forces with Pokémon and dropping a brand new single called Electric this Friday!

Back in January Katy announced the news of her collaboration with Pokémon at a celebratory program for Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. Earlier this year, Katy was feeling all the nostalgia and gushing about how Pokémon was always a constant in her life and how they’d trade Pokémon cards and play the original games on her game boy, she even mentioned how it was still prevalent today as she heads out to the streets to play Pokémon go as well!

Katy announced the great news on her social media platforms along with a picture of her and Pikachu and captioned it "I know y'all have been waiting for this one and it's almost here! Presave ELECTRIC my collab for @pokemon's  25th anniversary!"

The Pokémon music collaboration that was a yearlong venture called P25 includes Pokémon 25: The Album which is to be released in the fall of 2021 and what’s more is that it is going to feature 14 songs from 11 of your favorite artists like Perry, J Balvin and Post Malone to name a few. The will also be another surprise artist who will be releasing a song related to the Pokémon franchise and it doesn’t stop there - you’re going to get a music video and merchandise too!
