Despite making billions in the box office, Captain Marvel was a flop with the fans. Its “anti-male agenda” was considered a politically correct insult, paired with the rocky relationship Brie Larson had with the ‘Avengers’ cast has led to ‘Captain Marvel 2’ being dropped in favor of ‘The Marvels’.

A promo released last Monday (May 3), confirmed the updated official release date, held previously by the sequel, has now been changed to suit the new project. Fans are speculating that the character of Carol Danvers will either get killed off or replaced after rumors began to unfurl that Disney no longer has confidence in Larson and are trying to avoid a situation similar to that of Gina Carano and ‘The Mandalorian’.
