MIT SCIENTISTS DEVELOP LAB-GROWN WOOD IN ORDER TO REDUCE DEFORESTATION!

In an effort to cut down on deforestation and habitat endangerment, scientists have been successful in culturing wood in a lab.

The MIT project named Borenstein, is currently working on improving their samples and proving their technology by creating species of the zinnia plant. If they succeed, their work would mean an end to tree planting and milling.

The lab-grown samples have no need of soil or sunlight and would be an environmentally friendly alternative when producing various furniture and wood products used widely around the world.
