Since Sony’s launch of its PlayStation 5 consoles last November it has sold a total of 7.8 million pieces, confirmed by the company’s annual earnings report for FY 2020.

The company had a 14.7 percent increase in its PlayStation Plus subscribers which has now brought it to 47.6 million subscribers.

The gaming giants overall sales has raked in for the 2020 financial year a total operating profit of 342.2 billion yen ($3.14 billion) a record for Sony, as the fourth quarter figures show.

Sony confirmed in a report for Q3 2020 that it sold 4.5 million PlayStation 5 pieces since the console’s initial November release.
