Gaming giant Nintendo is collaborating with the firm that produced the gaming hit Pokémon Go to create augmented reality smartphone games.

The two firms said that their first project will involve Nintendo's lovable characters in a game expected to release soon this year. Augmented reality (AR) technology transforms images and animations to be overlaid on the actual real-world view perceived with the aid of a smartphone's rear camera.
