Michael B. Jordan is not only stepping on screen but also stepping behind the camera this time for the next Creed movie.
Deadline announced that the 32-year-old actor has been set by MGM to direct the film, in which he’ll also restate his role as Adonis Johnson.
“Directing has always been an aspiration, but the timing had to be right,” Michael shared in an official statement on his new role. “Creed III is that moment — a time in my life where I’ve grown more sure of who I am, holding agency in my own story, maturing personally, growing professionally, and learning from the Greats like Ryan Coogler, most recently Denzel Washington, and other top tier directors I respect. All of which sets the table for this moment.”
He continues, “This franchise and in particular the themes of Creed III are deeply personal to me. I look forward to sharing the next chapter of Adonis Creed’s story with the awesome responsibility of being its director and namesake.”
On top of Michael‘s role as director, MGM also revealed that the first showing of Creed III will launch on the 23rd of November, 2022.
