The highly awaited first look footage included plenty of the action fans expected. But, one component that did seem to shock viewers was how favorably it showed Kong. For Godzilla vs. Kong being a versus film, Kong was the one who seemed to have the whip hand supported the footage. This has begun to change as more footage was released, with a number of the latest showing Godzilla land an enormous hit on Kong.

Legendary and Warner Bros. has now released a new Godzilla vs. Kong trailer that has numerous new shots from the imminent blockbuster, which could be released in theaters and on HBO Max at the top of March. Most of the new footage displays Kong as the underdog in the fights against Godzilla, as he's shown seemingly defeated or on his heels many times.

The new Godzilla vs. Kong footage almost directly puts Kong in a difficult position. Godzilla smashes the boat he's on and causes it to flip the wrong way up. Kong is shown going underwater here since he likely cannot swim, and while he must escape continuing the fight. So far, that has been the pivotal point of the trailers and that isn't likely to change anytime soon.
