YouTube allows Music users to 'start radio' directly from the screen now running on Android. Users can click the song's album artwork and select the button on the far right to start playing radio of similar songs. The ‘Start Radio’ option has been available in the YouTube Music Overflow menu for a while, but now it is also emerging as a quick option. When playing a song on YouTube music to listen to similar songs, users can tap the ‘Start Radio’ option from the album artwork interface. This is the fourth button. A snack message called 'Starting Radio' appears on the screen. The update was first detected by 9to5Google. The release indicates that this feature has been tested for several weeks now.

Prior to this update, you can access the ‘Start Radio’ option from the YouTube Music Overflow menu. The option to do so still exists, but it is a quick way to start a radio playlist of songs like this. Alternatively, users can long press any song outside the player to start a station. While this is a useful feature, the new ‘Start Radio’ button can be difficult to identify and may take some time for users to use.

Google has released a number of new features for YouTube Music in the last few months of 2020 as this was replaced by disabling Google Play Music, encouraging users to switch to YouTube's music platform. The streaming app released a feature similar to the song radio called Quick Picks in November last year. Once a song is selected, a radio playlist of similar songs is created.
