Kelly Rowland has defended her rumoured boyfriend Chris Brown, saying that people need to forgive him for his past.

Chris has suffered intense backlash since he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, and he has been unable to move on since with several media outlets constantly referring to the incident.

Kelly went against Rihanna's friend Jay-Z and Beyonce's wishes by agreeing to support Breezy on his F.A.M.E. tour but she says people should not hold his past against him anymore. In an interview, Kelly said: "I think he should be given a second chance. I love my Chrissy boo. He's a really sweet young man. Everyone should just chill out."

In another interview with Runway, she also said that she has a lot of "respect" for the singer.
