Instagram tests new design for viewing stories on desktop.

In the new look, Instagram stories are expected to appear in a carousel, instead of the current single-tile design that takes up the entire page. A company spokesman confirmed to a release that testing of the new feature is actually underway. The report suggests that the navigation will remain the same - allowing users to manually click through the stories or let them play one after the other automatically.

The new design for Instagram Stories makes it easy to keep track of where you are in the story line. Until now, when you check a story on Instagram for desktop, it takes full screen. No need to swipe to the next person's story despite the navigation buttons. Users can see the stories of the last few people and the next few in a row, and one story does not take full screen.

If this change exposes a wider audience, it will transform Instagram into a cleaner user experience on the desktop, and will be more useful for those who regularly use desktop for Instagram.
