UDAWALAWE NATIONAL PARK

This large wildlife park is located in the southern part of the country, about an hour's drive from Hambantota. As the park is located on the border of the wet and dry zones of the country, the landscape and environment are different.
Visitors to the park can see elephants because of their high population, crocodiles, water buffalo, and more. In fact, it is one of the best places in the world to see elephants in the wild.
There are also leopards, but they can be very difficult to track or find. There is also a large assortment of monkeys and deer and small mammals. This is a great place to see birds.
There are also some small accommodations and guest houses from Udawalawe. You can also visit on a day trip, the best times to visit are early morning or late afternoon.
