Galle Lighthouse (also known as Point de Galle Light) is a beach lighthouse located in Galle, Sri Lanka, operated and maintained by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. It is the oldest light station in Sri Lanka. It was built during the British colonial period in 1848. Today's lighthouse is 26.5 meters high and was rebuilt in 1939. The lighthouse is an exemplary work by the famous architect Geoffrey Bawa.
