The Canadian singer is releasing a Christmas album this year called Under the Mistletoe. Justin recorded the majority of the songs in August and September and in order to pen tracks for the themed record, he thought about things, which remind him of the holiday, so he relied on bizarre things to get him in the spirit.

"It's different, because you've gotta think Christmastime. You've gotta think, 'What's at Christmas? Mistletoe, reindeer, Santa, all these things.' And especially when it's not Christmastime, it's hard to really get your mind around it," he explained in an interview.

"But once you get into it, like, I was really thinking it was Christmastime when I was writing this album. We had Christmas cookies [in the studio]."

Justin chose to record the holiday album because of its uplifting nature. The global sensation also wanted to put out some music before releasing the highly-anticipated follow-up to his debut studio album.

"I was going to put out my album soon anyways, and I was thinking, 'It's near Christmastime. If I'm going to release an album near Christmas, I figure maybe I'd just do a Christmas album,'' he said.

"The fans get more music, and everyone's happy.”
