NEW STAR WARS: SQUADRONS TRAILER FOCUS ON SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN

New info on the narrative gameplay in Star Wars: Squadrons were dropped on Thursday (27-08-20) during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Including, affirmation on several vital characters from the original Star Wars trilogy and the animated series, and new hints at what the single-player gameplay experience will be like.
Opening with an extensive note on the New Republic propaganda, the trailer includes a heartfelt picture of a young Princess Leia. The majority of the information was narrated by Susan Hunka, a narrative producer at EA’s Motive Studios. Additionally, she confirmed that Wedge Antilles — a veteran of the original Star Wars films and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker — will be in the game, and fly alongside players during missions. She also showed Hera Syndulla — from Star Wars Rebels — giving missions. Later, escort missions were confirmed.
The trailer focused on the Imperial experience. Titan squadron is tasked with hunting down the massive Starhawk battleship, a powerful new weapon being built by the New Republic. Then, at the end of the trailer, we see that same starship using its powerful tractor beam — said to be ten times more powerful than anything in the Imperial arsenal.
Star Wars: Squadrons are expected to be released on Oct. 2 and will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam, Origin, and the Epic Games Store. Also, the game will be compatible with PlayStation VR and PC VR systems and includes cross-play support across all platforms.
