RESIDENT EVIL LIVE-ACTION SERIES COMING TO NETFLIX

Resident Evil will be getting a TV series adaption on Netflix!
A scripted live-action series based on the long-running Capcom video game franchise is coming to Netflix, THR reported Thursday (August 27).
“Following months of development and an extensive search for a showrunner, Netflix has officially ordered eight episodes of a Resident Evil TV series. Supernatural co-showrunner Andrew Dabb oversees the series for Netflix and producers Constantin Film,” the outlet reports.
“Resident Evil is my favorite game of all time. I’m incredibly excited to tell a new chapter in this amazing story and bring the first-ever Resident Evil series to Netflix members around the world. For every type of Resident Evil fan, including those joining us for the first time, the series will be complete with a lot of old friends, and some things (bloodthirsty, insane things) people have never seen before,” Andrew said.
The plot will revolve around a new story across two timelines. The first timeline will show two 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker moving to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate kinda town is forced on them just as they become teenagers. However the increasing time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be hiding some dark secrets, secrets that could destroy the world.
The second timeline has a time skip of a decade into the future shows the population is less than 15 million people. With more than 6 billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus. Now 30-year-old Jade is struggling to live in this new world, all the while secrets from her past centering around her sister, her father and herself, continue to haunt her.
