THE SIMS 4 RECEIVING NEW STAR WARS THEMED GAME PACK

The Sims 4 will receive a new Star Wars-themed Game Pack, publisher Electronic Arts said in a statement during Gamescom 2020’s Opening Night Live event. Star Wars: Journey to Batuu will be dropped on Sept. 8.
In all honesty, the game looks awesome. The trailer shows a Sim picking up a lightsaber and is seemingly transported to Batuu, a remote planet in the Star Wars universe. Players might recognize it from Disney’s new Star Wars theme park, Galaxy’s Edge — it’s even got Vi Moradi, a Resistance spy who’s a main character at the park.
The Game Pack declared on Thursday (Aug. 27) is the first since Realm of Magic, which was released in 2019. Plenty of Stuff Packs have been dropped since then, though, in addition to the Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack that was added in July. The Sims 4’s last big expansion, Eco Lifestyle, was dropped in June.
If all these different pack names are baffling, here’s a rundown on what they are: Expansion Packs are the big gameplay additions that can dramatically change the game. These mostly include large-scale gameplay stuff — for instance, in Eco Lifestyle, The Sims 4 got a new environment rating system. Game Packs are described as “medium-sized,” and often add a specialized focused experience. Stuff Packs are relatively smaller, adding things like themed elements, clothes, and decor.
