Hambantota is a town situated in the Hambantota district of Sri Lanka. Previously, this town was devastated due to Tsunami in 2004 however the government worked hard to morph this place from being the underdeveloped area to a city that attracts several tourists and has transformed into a major urban hub. It is seen as the second commercial hub after Colombo and is now bustling with people from all over the country. The city has very tropically wet and dry weather, pretty much similar to the rest of the country. It is well renowned for its salt pans which supply quality salt to the entire country.

Hambantota provides an overview of Sri Lanka’s religious facets and diverse wildlife. It lures several tourists who want to explore the wild and get lost in the beauty of it. Hambantota has been a significant city during pre-colonial periods and thus the depths of the past that one can uncover here are uncertain.

Although the majority of the travelers visit Colombo which results in Hambantota not being explored by many however it is indeed one of the most beautifully subtle places in the country to travel to.
