The critics have spoken and the results are in. The 25th Annual Critics Choice Awards will take place this Sunday evening at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The show will be hosted by actor Taye Diggs for the second time in a row and will feature a cavalcade of Hollywood's biggest stars to hand out trophies to the best in TV and movies.

The nominations were announced last month and include films such as 1917, Joker, Marriage Story, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and The Irishman, which is the most nominated film of the night with 14 nominations. In fact Netflix, the studio responsible for The Irishman, reigned supreme this year earning a whopping 61 nominations for its various productions.

Many viewers expect the night to be an echo of the Golden Globes that took place last week but the stance is arguable. The Critics Choice Awards not only has very different criteria in judging but boasts a wider array of categories and nominees.

Films like Little Women and Us and performers such as Lupita Nyong'o and Cynthia Erivo that were snubbed from the Golden Globes are included in the Critics Choice nominees this year. Awards season has officially begun and we can't wait to see what comes next.
