"No Kid Hungry" is a national health campaign that's taken America by storm the last few years. The campaign itself is focused on ending childhood hunger across America and is raising awareness around how the power of school breakfast can change that. Through an annual initiative called "Powered By Breakfast" launched today, No Kid Hungry is intending to to rally support around breakfast served during school hours and its benefit to the 1 in 7 kids in the U.S. living with hunger.
A number of celebrity supporters have joined No Kid Hungry in raising their voices by signing an open letter to America’s children urging the nation’s leaders to help change the way school breakfast is served; among current signatures are award-winning recording artist Pink, actors Jeff Bridges and Kristen Bell as well as certain celebrity chefs.
“I teach my kids that when something isn’t right you speak up, so I can’t sit by silently knowing that there are kids going to school every day with empty bellies,” said P!NK. “As a mom — and as a human — this is unacceptable to me. We can’t keep letting our babies go without the basic fuel they need to be successful.”
